During 2003/2004 the villa was renovated to provide fabulous accommodation for either a large family, two families or a group of sharers. It is a stone farmhouse originally home to generations of Tuscan farmers. The original hay loft is now a living room with beautiful views. The construction of the house has taken place over the past year using local artisans and materials to ensure that the house keeps its original character whilst being upgraded to provide beautiful accommodation. The farmhouse is situated above the village of Campo. It is secluded, lying at the top of the hill up a two kilometre private drive, but it is only 10 minutes from the facilities of both Barga and Castlenuovo giving you the best of both worlds. In the evening you can enjoy a drink on the terrace and watch the fireflies dance below whilst during the day ample amounts of both sun and shade bathe the gardens to ensure contentment for all. The living accommodation comprises a living room, with an open fireplace, and a terrace where you can sit to admire the views across the Serchio valley. It is well designed for both dining and lounging with stereo, TV (with SKY), games etc. There is full central heating for winter stays. There is a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, stove, etc. and ample supplies of all cutlery and crockery that you will need for your stay, including all table linen, tea towels etc. The kitchen is equipped for both inside and outside dining.   The first floor has a double bedroom, with an outside terrace where you can enjoy coffee and peace as you wake.There is also a shower room and toilet, so that you can wash off from the pool without going upstairs! The upper floor has two double bedrooms, one twin room and one room with bunk beds. There are also two shower rooms on the upper floor. Outside there is a mettato – this was originally the chestnut store where chestnuts gathered from the woods were thrown into the upper story and a fire laid below to roast them. For us for the moment it serves as a pool house with a terrace set in both sun and shade for you to enjoy outside meals, sunshine, peace and tranquillity and ‘la bella vista’ – views to die for! The villa is equipped with a barbeque for outside dining. There is a large pool offering safe swimming for children and adults alike. The original farmhouse consisted of a large Cantina at ground floor level, this is now a games room with ping pong table and darts board. This will, we hope, provide additional entertainment for adults and children alike! The gardens go for miles – originally with olives and vines they are in the process of renovation – lots of room for you and the children to explore and play in safety.   Top Top
